ME MESELF AND ME

Yoga is the practice of tolerating yourself.
— Bhagavad Gita

I found this quote while trolling around Kira's FB photos. Sometimes I think neophyte yogis and yoginis should be handed a one page cheat sheet before they take their first class. And this would be number one on the list.

In the early days, especially, when you are learning things about your body, and your flexibility, and your ability to sit still and pay attention, this would be good to have in mind. Because what we all do, or so I think, is get busy with the judging.

We leave the practice, the moment, our bodies, to be outside, busy making comments and adjustments to our external mental positions and beliefs.

And so it is with writing as I mentioned last night.

Yoga, writing, and life are the practice of tolerating yourself
and your process.

Not that I think I can improve upon the Bhagavad Gita.
